BEGINNINGS
Asaf was born in Petah Tiqva, Israel in 1977. From age 2, Asaf found himself drawn to drawing and painting instinctively. Realizing from early on that this skill impressed those around him and garnered their respect, he poured his soul into the endeavor of becoming a great artist.
COMMITMENT TO THE CRAFT
In the year 2000, Asaf moved to Los Angeles at age 22 with the goal of painting professionally. In this competitive artistic atmosphere, he was exposed to tremendous talent which drove him to sharpen his skills. In 2005, he met Mark Westermoe at his art school and began private lessons under this well-known master of fine art. Asaf went on to apply all he had come to learn in a wide variety of techniques. His commitment to the craft is to always learn new skills, incorporate them into new works, and strive for perfection all the while.
COMPLETED WORKS
Asaf’s motto is that a painting is never truly finished, only ever abandoned. He nonetheless understood the need to show a finished product if was to be recognized as an artist. With enough confidence to exhibit his talents combined with urging from those around him that his body of work was well-enough established, he decided to make some of his works official. He has since gone on to show a large body of completed work at art exhibitions and private events.
